Cape of Good Hope. Interesting postcard, sent 3 Apr 1900 from GPO Cape Town to Bishops Waltham, arriving in Southampton Packet Office 28 Apr 1900 (note the 1d cost to travel many thousands of miles!). Probably sent to a girlfriend/sister?. The writer’s text is full of concern as he is about to join the Boer War at Bloenfontain. News of other regiments involved is not good, so we can only subsequently guess what subsequently occurred. Please see photographs.
